Now that another long weekend has past, *sigh*
reality checks back in.
It's a little daunting to recall all of the to-do items on the never ending proverbial list.
I say that because I mean to write one out, I really do.
My mother is a list maker.
I grew up in that environment.
When it's done, check it off the list.
Don't know what to do now? Check the list.
It was like a gold star, the smiley face, the light at the end of the tunnel.
Good job you're done!
Now you can relax.
My husband is a list maker.
I am constantly finding self-reminders throughout our whole house. I have been caught cleaning out bits of scrap paper from the dryer lint catcher and having to humbly ask if it was important, to the chagrin of my wonderful spouse. And I have caused hubby to scramble madly throughout our home and piles I've neatly sorted so he can find one certain list he wrote out weeks before. I'm glad he continues to forgive me.
Oh, and my mother-in-law is a list maker.
Do you see the trend?
I will continue to make lists in my head, and I admit once in a while I do manage to scratch a few syllables out on a receipt, or a coupon, which then I can't use because it contains vital information on it and until I write it elsewhere the coupon stays on the fridge. I have to work on it.
Tomorrow is a new day. I'm going to make a list.
Then I'm going to fly-by-the seat of my pants.
Heh heh, yea...
ReplyDeleteSee, I have a problem with the list thing. Sometimes it helps, but most of the time I make a list, and then my brain thinks "it's on a list now" so I forget about what I had intended to do.
A few days later I find the list, and I'm like "Oh, yea! Daaaang...."
;)
The first item on the list is to make a list... second item is to remember to do the list.
ReplyDeleteI LIKE lists. They keep me on track, and I get a sense of accomplishment when I cross things off the list.
ReplyDeleteAlso, it helps with the brain damage. Half the time I don't remember what I planned to do. If I write it down (or tell Linda) I remember. But only if I find the list... or talk to Linda. (She's my brain in a box... well, in a cute 21 year old).
Have fun flying by the seat of your pants!
I'm sooo not a list maker.
ReplyDeleteA written one, anyway.
I do, however, make them is my head. Kinda organize my day, what I need to get done.
I make lists for some things.
ReplyDeleteLike, a grocery list. Or, if we're leaving the house for the day, I make a list of everything we need to take.
Lists are useful sometimes. :)
I'm like Adeena, I make grocery lists. And forget them in the car. :P
ReplyDeleteI write myself notes sometimes, if I need to remember to call someone or if it's recycling day Tuesday and I remember on Monday.
I don't make daily "to do" lists, though.. I just have regular chores that I do every day so it's just habit, no remembering involved!
