Today is Easter Sunday.
It's the day the whole western world celebrates Christ.
HE IS RISEN!
It's the day the whole western world celebrates Christ.
HE IS RISEN!
As a Christian, I don't base my religion on celebrating this holiday.
I enjoy the time off with my family.
Sometimes we even have egg hunts just for the fun of it.
But I would never use Easter as a definition for my belief.
The holiday was established by man, for man.
Celebrating it does nothing to further the Kingdom of God.
Now that I got that off my chest,
Have a great day!
Yay for egg hunts! :)
ReplyDeleteEaster for me just reminds me yet again of the sacrifice of Christ.
I won't do it. I'd condemn all the sinners to Hell, because they deserve nothing less. In fact, I probably wouldn't have created them in the first place. :P
I'm so thankful that God had mercy on me. I definitely don't deserve it.
For me, Easter is a time to really focus on the gift that God gave us. To remember His sacrifice, to read the story of His Death and Resurrection with my kids.
ReplyDeleteAnd Easter had everything to do with being a Christian!! If it wasn't for His Death, and subsequent Resurrection, we'd all be dead men walkin'!
But instead, He conquered death, that we might live.
Crucial point.
Without the resurrection, there is no Christianity. Christianity is based on the fact that sinners who have no hope at all are SAVED by the grace of God. How He accomplished that was in sending His Son to live a perfect life and fulfill the law completely, then die on behalf of His people. He took on our sin, and paid the full price, satisfying God's just wrath against sin.
ReplyDeleteEaster, to me, means that I am free from the law, and able to love God and serve Him wholeheartedly.
He is Risen!
