On Parenting

Today started a bit slow, as I stayed up way too late watching one of my favourite sitcoms since Home Improvement *insert growling huh?* last night. So, Husband thought he'd let me sleep in, waking up before the alarm screeched, and keeping children occupied by tossing food at them once in a while. Sleeping in for me is until 8:30 since giving birth to people who hate me, but what bliss it is to naturally have my eyes pop open and all of a sudden being awake, just because I've had enough sleep.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.

What my wonderful Man doesn't realize, or remember, is that if I am not the one who feeds the kids as soon as I appear they immediately accuse me of starving them to death, and that they can barely lift their arms because they are SO HUNGRY.

Right.

So, not only am I being punished for not waking before these people, serving them a large nutritious breakfast with a smile, and catering to their every whim, it continues as I'm trying to make said healthy breakfast while three kids are hanging off my arms and legs and one is crying because another hit him/her and the oldest is reminding me that he also slept in so he is wasting away as I crackeggsfrybaconcutupmelondirectwhatneedstobedonesowecansitatthetableandohyeahburnthetoast.

SIGH

Yes, while sleeping in in glorious and much needed at times, the consequences make it a dream that becomes reality few and far between.

It's not worth the tone the rest of the day is set.
