Less Me (Open My Eyes)

How arrogant I can be

If freely given full reign

Immediate, turning my face from you

Oh God make me less me!

Let not this world entice my thought

Give me not over to my desire for sin

My Soul yearns for a peaceful life

Lord, allow disaster to begin!

Witness their mocking of your Beauty

My heart is heavy, for you it bleeds

Keep me firmly in this Valley

Remind this slave I am redeemed.

I cry out in agony Father, arms raised!

Be merciful to those who can't see!

Remove them not from your saving grace!

Show kindness to those who lead!

Silence my mouth with your wisdom

Pull the blinds shut to keep me in

Spare me from looking at the filth of this Earth

But open my eyes to my sin.
