I Used To Have....

...Talent.

I've come across an old school binder of mine and lo, it was filled with poems, stories, and lyrics I had written in my younger, more freedom filled days. I'm glad my mom made me keep things, because I usually toss stuff so it doesn't clutter and make my brain hate me.

Here's a song I had written, and has actually recorded with some old buddies of mine who had a band. I think I still have the cassette tape somewhere too with my young voice chortling away.

That I will never share.

Ever.

Here's my song, written by my 15 year old self.

Why Won't Somebody Love Me?

I met a guy on the street today
said he's searching to find a better way
Not seeing what he needs inside
Keeps reaching for things he just can't buy

And I can hear him say,
"Why won't somebody love me?"

I knew a girl who was a beauty queen
Had the world by the tail
Or so that is how it seemed
People say her life's a free ride
But talking with her there's emptiness inside.
(She's all alone)

And I could hear her say
"Why won't somebody love me?"

There is a peace inside me.
Gods love will make you free.

With years gone by for that woman and man
It took some time to see they're in Gods plan
Just like them you can take part too
Just ask Jesus, he died for me and you

And we can say
"I found someone who loves me!"

So there you go. A hint of my youth, albeit Armenian ways.

So glad Jesus Loves ME!

  2. I have heard that tape ;)
I might even be able to find it given enough time.

Nice song, even with the Armenian slant
