with having
special dates on the calendar
is that
life gets in the way.
is that
life gets in the way.

Days come and go,
whether or not you pause to reflect on what it represents doesn't matter to the rising and setting of the Sun.
My calendar is my life,
journal,
reminder,
secret keeper.
Anyone who knows me knows that if they want to know something about me they look on my cupboard, where 365 days are hung neatly on a monthly basis and filled in.
Birthdays, anniversaries, warranties, special events, appointments.
You name it.
It's written down.
I have every intention of being the 'good' Aunt and sending cards to my numerous nieces and nephews. Or the thoughtful sister for my siblings wedding anniversaries.
(Who are also numerous.)
I have every important date written down,
but not enough sense to remember to look ahead.
I do think about the special people those days represent when I realize the date.

Life gets in the way of being good.
What is that? Shampoo? XD Bad Wessy!
ReplyDeleteI have my life on my calendar, too. I *used* to be good, and send a card/email for whatever was going on... but now I don't. Oh well.
Is that shampoo on the carpet? Don't worry, you come by "good intentions" honestly. After my mom died, we found cards she had purchased for special occasions but never got around to mailing. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI caught it from her.
You caught it from MEEEeeeeeee!
(Sorry.)
I have it too. And so does Emma.
ReplyDeleteOh well. As long as we all know we MEAN to be thoughtful....
Bubble bath doesn't come out of the carpet nicely.
ReplyDeleteBubble bath might make shampooing the carpet more fun ;)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately my memory is worst than Rachel's, so I am no help.
