I'm just late at posting.
What has gone by that I haven't written about recently?
Fathers Day.
The day someone years ago decided to honor her father, and because some politician wanted votes he made it a national holiday. (Not to mention the retail margin that would ultimately be in the green, because let's face it, if we don't get the day off, or get paid double time, it's not a real holiday.)
If anyone ever has an interest in marketing, like me, you would notice that all the stores, shops, and malls are geared toward dad. What dad would want, not want, need or not need. It's funny, actually, because despite the stereotype not all men, or dads like tools. I have met some. And no Jay their lifestyle was not questionable.
But, I'm thankful to have a man in my life I can proudly shower with special gifts on the day set out for him, especially of the tool sort.
This man became an instant father to my son when we met.
They formed a bond immediately.
This was further cemented in truth when our 'first' came along.
This man is proud of his children.
He views them as gifts from his heavenly father, although it's not all fun and games for him. His life is spent focusing on providing for us. Everyday he sacrifices something for us. He is willing to be criticized if it means he'll honor God in a better way.

This father has risen above my expectations.
His children adore him.

And although he's still learning to lead, I'm thankful that he's the one to hold my hand, and take our family places I've never thought possible.
Happy Fathers Day.
I Love You.
