Are you at ease?
Are you comfortable?
Is it wrong to make sure our lives are worry free?
Isaiah 31 speaks about the Israilites trusting in Egypt, and their army for protection. They put their trust in idols, things, and flesh and blood for protection and purpose. They deny Gods power by avoiding his wisdom. They turn away from God, and yet He still gives them a chance to repent. Common sense suggests that the Creator would know what's best for the creation, but this is ignored.
God is the perfect protector of his people.

Isaiah 31:3
The Egyptians are man, and not God,
and their horses are flesh, and not spirit.
When the Lord stretches out his hand,
the helper will stumble,
The Egyptians are man, and not God,
and their horses are flesh, and not spirit.
When the Lord stretches out his hand,
the helper will stumble,
and he who is helped will fall, and they will all perish together.
Take a look at what's going on around you. What are the priorities in your life? Who do you believe and follow and seek after? Who's advise are you applying to your household?
The city of man calls, beckons, "You can have this too! Just follow me!"
Promises of a nest egg, a safety net, a retirement plan.
All of this means nothing.
Isaiah 31:7
For in that day everyone shall cast away his idols of silver,
and his idols of gold,
which your hands have sinfully made for you.
In the end, on the glorious day Jesus returns everything is left behind. So why put so much effort in our comfort?
Don't fall for the lie that any mans success is his OWN doing.
Anything and everything we have is from God. Period. We need to be content and secure in our Heavenly father above all else. We need to cling to Jesus. He is our rock, our anchor.
The foundations of our lives must be built on the foundation of Jesus Christ.
We put men, flesh and blood, on pedestals. We hold them in esteem because they have a talent we do not. Men put fools in office, in leadership, in celebrity.
God reveals the fool.
God taught his people a hard lesson,
He took everything away.
He took their comfort,
their possessions,
their land.
How far are we willing to take the Kingdom of God?
Are we willing to not buy the latest and greatest so that the Lord could use that bonus check for his purposes?
Do we pay the butcher, the baker, the bill collector, before we save a little for ourselves
and then give what's left
to God?
Look hard at your motives for what you do, why you're doing it.
Seek The Lords wisdom.
He doesn't charge a thing.
